[edit]This article should really be moved to Mount Yatsuga. Any objections?imars (talk) 06:34, 8 July 2008 (UTC)
- After some further thought on the issue, perhaps this article would be better off as just Yatsugatake. Yatsu eight, ga of, take peak(s). Other options would be to fully translate the name as Eight Peak Mountain or Mountain of Eight Peaks, or to classify the group of mountains as a range or volcanic group. Hmmm.imars (talk) 06:43, 21 July 2008 (UTC)
- OK, the Smithsonian Global Volcanism Program, breaks the mountains into two groups: The Kita Yatsuga-take volcanic group and the rest. This article according to the outline refers to the southern group. Tateshina (a member of the northern group) is in the 100 list as is the mountain covered by this article in the southern group. One proposal would be to define a mountain range: Yatsugatake Mountains, which consists of two volcanic groups, of which Tateshina and this peak are respective members.imars (talk) 06:52, 21 July 2008 (UTC)
