The True Identity of Mouchette
[edit]in Internet Art, (Rachel Greene) [1]
"Reviving a filmic personality on the web, the site's mysterious auteur, who only recently broke character to identify himself, gives the neo-Mouchette a memorable problematic persona."(p 115)
"identify himself". so the true identity is a male?
I don't think it should be considered as a reliable source, not for the source itself, but for the fact that in our society it's still common to use "he" as a superficial, standard way to refer to people of a non-identified gender. Anyway, maybe the author just wrote it that way due to lack of attention. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 186.206.76.122 (talk) 02:15, 25 August 2012 (UTC)
Press Release
[edit]On Easter Sunday, April 20, 2003, a press release was held in Postmasters Gallery in New York City. The creators of Mouchette were to finally reveal their identity and talk about the project, which will take place in an inflatable live environment especially constructed with New York artist Anakin Koenig.
The environment inside the inflatable device is mysterious, "which can be associated with the play on anonimity". [2]
Anakin Koenig: Artist who created the inflatable environment for the Mouchette Press Release.

It is not clear what happened on the day of April 20 2003, because there is no mention of the identity of Mouchette in any of the articles after this event.
(This is where i get stuck too. I was going to mention on how its hard to find information after the event, but it seems like incomplete research. thats why i didnt mention it. Because there could be articles, we just didn't find it yet.Mysteryckey (talk) 21:25, 5 May 2008 (UTC))
Most probably questions were answered by Mouchette that day but the identity was still kept a secret and the face of Mouchette was not clearly seen because of low light.
(This also needs a citation. It has to be statements backed up by actual articles and not our opinion. Mysteryckey (talk) 21:25, 5 May 2008 (UTC))

Hidden links
[edit]"Lida"
[edit]May 4th, i randomly found a hidden section in the mouchette.org site. What usually says "I live in Amsterdam" now said "I live in your illusion". i clicked on the link and it took me here: http://mouchette.org/pages/Lida/where.html
i then decided to look at the index page at the Lida section: http://mouchette.org/pages/Lida/
and found a whole new section. a lot of the pages have images with Greek looking text. it has a lot of drug/birth control references.

"Squint"
[edit]another hidden section is one of the "blind jumps", called "squint". http://mouchette.org/squint/ NOT SAFE FOR WORK! pornographic! i thought it was just that one page, but i examined the code, and saw that it had another link: http://mouchette.org/squint/2pic.html
which leads to: http://mouchette.org/squint/3s.html
which leads to: http://mouchette.org/squint/4pic.html
which leads to: http://mouchette.org/squint/5s.html
where the sex noise is replaced with a woman screaming.
