Changed song

[edit]

On the subtitles for this episode, it gives the song that was changed to "Waterloo" as "Don't You Want Me" by the Human League. On the episode capsule on The Simpsons Archive, many contributors also gave "Don't You Want Me" instead of "Wake Me Up Before you Go Go". Could somebody verify this? --217.33.207.195 13:28, 28 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Straw-hat gag

[edit]

The last ID showing the aliases of Mona Simpson shows her wearing a straw hat with the price tag still on. This is a reference to some old comedy where the actress is wearing a hat with the price tag but I can't remember the name of it.

Burns' lab

[edit]

"There is a detail hardly nobody realizes: when we look at Burns' lab after the "antibiotics bomb" has exploded, most of the things in the lab are viruses (influenza is a virus, as well as smallpox)."

What's the significance of this?

Viruses aren`t affected by antibiotics due to their protein shield. Only microorganisms are affected because their membrane is not protected by proteins and the antibiotic can enter freely into the cell--ometzit<col> 02:05, 27 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Not only that, but antibiotics would be unlikely to clear up asthma (partly for the same reason), but they *might* indeed have cleared up Wiggum's acne, since antibiotics are sometimes prescribed for that condition. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.124.116.101 (talk) 20:37, 2 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

GA on hold

[edit]

The first paragraph could be re-written by simply saying Homer throws a dummy over a waterfall to fool Burns and thus escape working. Also, the ABBA song link should be Waterloo (ABBA song). Alientraveller 16:52, 30 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Done and done. -- Scorpion0422 17:12, 30 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Another note: the IGN citation links to the wrong page. Alientraveller 17:58, 30 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Fixed. -- Scorpion0422 18:30, 30 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
OK, cool. Another GA scored! Alientraveller 18:38, 30 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Redacted Dedication

[edit]

In future airings of "Mother Simpson," the dedication slide to Jackie Banks was removed from the end credits. Does anyone know when they started cutting out that segment, and why? I can confirm that it is skipped on the Disney+ streaming service. ElMeroEse (talk) 01:33, 24 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
