Clintons watch MXC?

[edit]

This article (http://www.philly.com/mld/philly/entertainment/columnists/jonathan_storm/15965187.htm) states Bill and Hillary Clinton are fans of the show. Any room in this article for that bit of trivia? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 72.76.97.66 (talk) 21:22, 18 February 2007 (UTC).[reply]

If we can get a trivia section up with a few notable facts, then that certinally has a place. Mshake3 02:00, 26 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks a lot for the split

[edit]

Once I figure out how to give Barnstars, your gettin one. Tinkleheimer 03:56, 5 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Major cleanup

[edit]

still needs a cleanup...this article looks like it was written by a retard...which isn't surprising, considering only an MXC fan would care enough to barf up this amount of info about MXC onto a website.

I, too, am glad this got split from Takeshi's Castle. MXC's grown into something a bit too big to be a simple subheading under the original. However, I did some major cleanup to the article; first, to clean up any split artifacts (Takeshi's Castle was never directly mentioned, all subsections were one level too deep, etc); then, to go a bit more into detail about the show and clean up some weak parts of the descriptions. But, there are still numerous parts that either need to be properly merged or expanded upon (i.e. some of the information is getting repeated in the Characters section). So, while I think I did a decent job on cleanup, someone else might need to clean up my cleaning up. :-) CaptainSpam 08:53, 5 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

List of events?

[edit]

It would be nice to add the events played in MXC. If somebody start it, I'll be sure to add to it! :) Pabelanger (Talk) 23:59, 5 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • OK, I started the section my self, be kind. Pabelanger (Talk) 01:21, 6 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
    • The events are fine for now (I'd change it to Games personally). However, with TC having their games on a separate article, this may suffer the same fate eventually. Seeing as how this is an MXC article, and not a Takeshi's Castle article, we should use the descriptions given by Vic, as you've done. However, I'd also include the actual object of the game too. I guess I'm just throwing out ideas. But it's a great start.

Also, this applies to the Character section too. Vic, Kenny, Guy, the Captain, Danny Glands, Em on Em, etc. Mshake3 05:36, 6 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Working on a table for the section:

Challenge: Tagline: Description:
Boulderdash Pass several stones without being painfully eliminated. Contestants run up a steep and narrow hill. Giant boulders that nearly take up the entire chute come rolling down one at a time. There are numerous slots for the contestant to hide in, but the slitmen will push them out of it. They must reach the top of the chute without being crushed or knocked down.
Bunk Buddies Each contestant grabs a colored chip, if your color comes up your on the bottom. Contestants randomly pick a colored chip and sit on the appropiate position on a giant roulette board. A roulette wheel is spun. If you match the number and color that comes up, you lose.
Cruelette If your number doesn't come up, you win. Otherwise, you pay the ultimate price.
Rotating Surfboard of Death Catch a wave, dodge a dolphin, or die. Contestants have to jump onto a moving surfboard that's rotating in a circle and suspended over a water pit. They must jump over a pink dolphin, run over a platform, jump over another pink dolphin, and finally onto a final platform to win. The obstacles start off far apart, but come up quicker and quicker, forcing the contestants to react quicker.

Characters

[edit]

I've started the new character section. I want it to follow the WP:TV guidlines. First we'll start with the main characters (Vic, Kenny, etc). Next we'll have the characters that don't appear in every episode but have at least been given consistant names (Danny Glands, Em on Em, etc). Finally, all of the notable one-time, game-specific characters. Mshake3 05:57, 6 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Episodes

[edit]

Well, following Mshake3 lead, I have started an Episode section. It is a little bear right now, but give it a few days to fill in. Pabelanger (Talk) 21:01, 7 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Such a shame

[edit]

It's such a shame this article just can't be redirected to Takeshi's Castle. It's been so over americanised its unbelievable. "Most Extreme Elimination", "Captain Tenneal" and "Guy LeDouche". —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.130.138.53 (talk) 19:51, 30 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That is kind of the point of it. It is a completely different program, just like What's Up, Tiger Lily? is completely different than Kokusai himitsu keisatsu: Kagi no kagi. --rogerd (talk) 21:55, 30 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Episode question

[edit]

Can anybody tell me which episode was that featured the hosts Dressed up as Son Goku and Doraemon? All I can remember is Vic (I think) anouncing "It's family day", and the host dressed as Goku responding that he was dressed as a crackhead when asked who he was dress as. "Right you are, Ken"

[edit]

Is this catchphrase a reference to any similar famous quote? I ask this because there is a Simpsons-themed gameboy video game which came out some time in the 90s, before MXC, called "Bart Versus The Juggernauts" whose gameplay is commentated by Kent Brockman and Dr. Marvin Monroe. Monroe's catchprase throughout the game is "Right you are, Kent" so I've always wondered if Vic Romano's catchphrase on MXC is a reference to this or if perhaps, more likely, they are both references to another, older famous catchphrase. Does anyone have any idea about this? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.184.31.251 (talk) 07:49, 4 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Just An Observation

[edit]

Just so you guys who are editing this page know, I was reading the Takeshi's Castle article and in every second sentence there is a reference to MXC. So naturally I came to this page to see what MXC is. I was utterly confused. The article twice states that MXC is just a redub of Takeshi's castle. Yet it kept referring to "teams" and many other things that weren't a part of Takeshi's Castle. I've managed to gather from this incomplete article that originally it was just a redub but now there are new American episodes called MXC. Is this correct? Just thought you guys might wanna know that this page is kind of useless if it's just serving the people who already know what MXC is. In every single article on wikipedia there needs to be a layman definition in the opening paragraph. It's not acceptable to have to read the whole article to figure out what it is you're reading about. I'm changing the opening lines to something someone with a brain might write.
