Mosman Bay ferry services (numbered F6)Mosman Bay ferry services – Absolutely no need for disambiguation as there is no other "Mosman Bay ferry services" article on Wikipedia. – PhilipTerryGraham (talk · articles · reviews) 06:34, 24 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I couldn't find that "ferry services" is any kind of official name, it's not a natural disambiguation. Incidentally, Sydney_Ferries#Network pipes "Mosman Bay" to Inner Harbour ferry services, which is a bit WP:EGGy. 94.21.204.175 (talk) 13:26, 31 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
That link has been corrected - was awaiting the rename and move but has now been done in anticipation.Fleet Lists (talk) 02:34, 1 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Official website http://www.beyondthewharf.com.au/route/mosman-bay/ refers to it as "F6 – Mosman Bay Ferry Service" singular. This also applies to the other 7 ferry routes. So to be strictly correct all routes except possibly F1 Manly, should be renamed to the singular version from the plural. Taronga Zoo ferry service, Parramatta River ferry service, Cross Harbour ferry service, Neutral Bay ferry service, Mosman Bay ferry service, Double Bay ferry service and Cockatoo Island ferry service. The only possible exception is F1 Manly ferry services which covers two different services - the standard Sydney Ferries service and the fast ferry service operated by My Fast Ferry.Fleet Lists (talk) 03:18, 1 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

service or services ?

[edit]

@Marcnut1996:Following the rename from Mosman Bay ferry services (renumbered F6) to Mosman Bay ferry services which has now been done, a further issue has arisen as to whether services in the name should be singular or plural. Official website http://www.beyondthewharf.com.au/route/mosman-bay/ refers to it as "F6 – Mosman Bay Ferry Service" singular. This also applies to the other 7 ferry routes. So to be strictly correct all routes should be renamed to the singular version from the plural.Manly ferry service, Taronga Zoo ferry service, Parramatta River ferry service, Cross Harbour ferry service, Neutral Bay ferry service, Mosman Bay ferry service, Double Bay ferry service and Cockatoo Island ferry service. As these names are all available, there is no need for administrator involvement to achieve such renames. Hence I am proposing to carry out such names next Saturday 9th February 2019. Any comments are welcome before then.Fleet Lists (talk) 03:36, 2 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I am neutral between singular vs plural as they mean the same thing. They are not actual names, they are just describing what the article is about, i.e. a ferry service or a route with ferry services. Marcnut1996 (talk) 05:17, 2 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
