Removing image for now

[edit]

I was informed by the subject that the photo was taken under the promise that it would not be shared publicly. I'm removing it and will try to find a new one soon.--CyberGhostface (talk) 13:23, 20 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I've restored it as I've had no response from Morjana about this after a week. If she asks again I'll reopen the discussion.--CyberGhostface (talk) 20:36, 26 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I forgot to update but Morjana doesn't want the article to have the earlier image. I think the old image is still decent so hopefully this will be fine for now until I find a new replacement.--CyberGhostface (talk) 22:07, 4 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Just to clarify: are you saying that the photo File:Mylene Jampanoi and Morjana Alaoui.png on Commons, taken from Flickr here, and from which the photo File:Morjana Alaoui.png is cropped, is not authorized to be on Commons?

If that's the case, then the right approach is to start a deletion on Commons. But to the extent there has not been a decision made to delete it, it's a far better photo than the one at File:Morjana Alaoui 2008.png, and should be used in the article. TJRC (talk) 00:54, 5 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Also, if the photo is wrongfully used, opening a WP:OTRS ticket is another, more official, avenue to have it removed. TJRC (talk) 01:02, 5 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
What happened was the actress in question Morjana Alaoui contacted me, saying that the photo was taken with the impression that it would not be shared and she asked me to remove it from her article. Her edits are here.--CyberGhostface (talk) 23:22, 6 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I'll leave a message there directing her to WP:OTRS. We don't remove on the basis of a statement that the subject made personal contact with an editor. OTRS is designed to handle these kind of things. TJRC (talk) 23:26, 6 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I'm currently in the middle of talking to the photographer for this image to release his photo for Wikipedia. If he does would this be ok to use for her main article? I've also tried contacting Morjana herself but I haven't heard back.--CyberGhostface (talk) 23:33, 6 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I think the one that's there now is best quality. The one you propose does not illustrate her as well.
Please also see this discussion on Commons. It comes to the same conclusion I provide above: "The proper way to handle this is for the subject to send a request to OTRS." TJRC (talk) 23:37, 6 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Fair enough I'll keep you updated if she responds to me.--CyberGhostface (talk) 23:50, 6 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
