Needed
[edit]The following is needed for this article:
- A section on the production or "making of" of the film.
- Release information including its marketing campaign.
- Information on the soundtrack.
Good sources could include web and magazine articles, interviews, and any documentaries included on the Monster DVD. --GHcool 23:34, 9 September 2006 (UTC)
Inherent unfairness
[edit]Does anybody know if this statement from the "Acclaim" section has any truth to it? "Some critics, while priaisng Theron's performance, nevertheless noted the inherent unfairness of the Oscar process: when a beautiful person volunatrily becomes ugly for a role, she is given an oscar nod." If nobody can verify it, I will delete it in one week. --GHcool 18:25, 31 March 2007 (UTC)
- I found an article from Fox News that can be used as a source. [1] Itsmeiam 18:05, 19 April 2007 (UTC)
- The article says nothing about the Oscar process being inherently unfair. I'm deleting the sentence. --GHcool 21:55, 19 April 2007 (UTC)
Charlize Theron's nationality
[edit]Is there some reason that Charlize Theron's South African heritage is significant to her performance, enough so that it has to mentioned in this article? We don't mention Christina Ricci being an American actress. Nolefan32 06:07, 22 July 2007 (UTC)
- The fact that its in the article doesn't bother me, but it wouldn't bother me if it weren't in the article either. Feel free to take it out if you wish. --GHcool 02:53, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
WikiProject class rating

Fair use rationale for Image:Monster movie.jpg
[edit]Image:Monster movie.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. BetacommandBot 02:35, 6 September 2007 (UTC)

Wuornos' knowledge of film
[edit]Was Wuornos aware that this movie was being made? I saw a clip from what was purported to be her final on-camera interview before her execution a few weeks later and she made some statements about a movie. 22:40, 7 July 2021 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.73.90.119 (talk)
WikiProject banner settings
[edit]@Live to die and @PARAKANYAA: WikiProject settings are not worth bickering over. I have chosen a compromise that hopefully will satisfy both patties. B-class set in both the banner shell AND each WikiProject banner. This redundancy is needed in case someone removes the banner shell class attribute. A Low setting for the overall WikiProject Crime and Criminal Biography, but Mid importance for the Serial Killer task force. If you disagree please apply Wikipedia's BOLD, revert, discuss cycle and tak about it. the time for being bold is past. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 19:15, 17 November 2023 (UTC)
- Yeah, fair enough. It just made it show up as unknown importance which bugged me. Probably should have explained myself better though. Thanks! PARAKANYAA (talk) 19:19, 17 November 2023 (UTC)
- @PARAKANYAA: I was going to make the same changes! But decided I needed a clear head to properly think about it, so decided to wait. Note that I have also added a B-class checklist with the coverage setting (b2) left undecided, as I don't think the coverage is complete, as there isn't any article content or discussion on how the screenplay was developed from the real life events. The incomplete coverage is a bit of a sticking point for the article to be B-class but I thought this is an article about a film so there might be limited available information to provide these details, and leave that for others to decide, because the article seems fairly comprehensive otherwise. And I am not a film expert, I just assess the articles occasionally. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 19:35, 17 November 2023 (UTC)
