The article recently survived a nomination for deletion by myself, but it brought up the idea of moving the article to the name Monroe County Fairgrounds. The move could not be made in the AfD since the newly named article does not exist, so the status of the current Stock Arena article was left unchallenged. There are a lot of U.S. counties named Monroe, and Google searches show a few other fairground links from other states. Even though no other Monroe County has a fairground article, my suggestion is to rename the current Stock Arena article to Monroe County Fairgrounds (Michigan) and expand its content to include information on the entire fairground facility and county fair, which is held annually in the first week of August (following a local parade, which might be a small note in the article). The fairground sits unused throughout most of the year, but the county fair is a major local attraction. If reliable secondary sources can be found, I think the information pertaining to the Stock Arena can merely become a section in the newly named and hopefully expanded article. If not enough information can be compiled for a standalone article, then perhaps the Monroe County Fairgrounds and new information can be merged (with consensus) to a section within the main Monroe County, Michigan article.—Notorious4life (talk) 18:46, 14 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
