I drafted up this article a couple weeks ago, but it needs much work. For myself and future editors I offer this list of

Goals
  1. Expand to include views on the unity of tonal structure both before and after Schoenberg (especially Schenker--although not extensively, as there is already a Schenkerian analysis article), so this is not so Schoenberg-centric.
  2. Expand and re-organize to explain analytical methods of Schoenberg and others of similar methods.

  • I think we need more sources. The article mentions Schenker but there is no reference to Schenker's writing. I imagine Schenker could have mentioned it in his Free Composition or something, but it should be properly cited. Also, monotonality is quite an important topic in Schoenberg's theory and Schenker's theory, so someone should expand the article. — 星球统领 (talk) 14:52, 13 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
