A reference to "Monkeys Fist" (knot) should be made

A reference to the phrase "Monkey on your back" should also be made as a general term for addiction of any kind.

Those are both examples of partial title matches and usually discouraged on disambiguation pages - especially long ones such as these. Hoof Hearted (talk) 21:02, 21 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

As a slur

[edit]

The term is also used as a racial slur for black people. 63.231.148.111 (talk) 06:49, 10 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

A disambiguation page, such as this one, is a list of articles in Wikipedia with similar names. There is no article in Wikipedia on the use of 'monkey' as an ethnic slur, so there is no link to add here. The term is mentioned in List of ethnic slurs by ethnicity#African, but 'monkey' as an ethnic slur does not always refer to Africans or African-Americans. The term "mayonnaise monkey" is used to refer to white people in the US, and "northern monkey" is used in the south of England to refer to people from the north of England (see List of ethnic slurs). - Donald Albury 13:52, 10 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
