Addition removed here on July 28, 2010: "Her poetry books are favoured by many experienced authors ,especially the poem Presents from my Aunts. This is a great poem as it also involves many people in a similar position as her ,when she was 13 .I would definitely recommend her books :)" Dear Tharusy, I absolutely agree with you about the poem. I'm grateful to you for mentioning it and I've just read it again thanks to you. Still, there's a problem or two with what you've written, and if the editors had pounced on it before I did, they might well have been rude and geeky about it. I take the view that anyone who appreciates Moniza Alvi's poetry as you do and feels a need to say so has the makings of a great Wikipedist. But back to the problems: This is an anonymous encyclopaedia entry, and so there can be no "I". What you could say is that the poem reflects feelings and dilemmas encountered by many immigrant children or children of immigrants all over the world, perhaps. Better still you could go onto Google and try to find what other people have written about the poem (or others of Alvi's come to that). Because any judgements we put into Wikipedia entries have to be ascribed to a published source and referenced accurately. And another small point: No smileys. You have the 25 letters of the alphabet and the usual punctuation marks to work with. I hope you will come back and do some more work on Alvi's page. It was pitifully skimpy when I found it a few months ago and it still needs a lot of work. Blessings. Bmcln1 (talk) 18:09, 28 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
