[edit]Momentum Mississippi is a program that is dives a lot deeper than what this article provides. The best avenue that I see to correct this is to change the article to focus on Economic Development in general in the State of Mississippi. I would format the page in the following ways:
- Change the title of the page to Mississippi Economic Development. - Give a brief explanation of the Mississippi economy - both its current state and its history. This is possible by linking to the Wikipedia page on the State of Mississippi under the subheading of Economy (http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Mississippi#Economy) and by giving statistics from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics (http://www.bls.gov/eag/eag.ms.htm). - Explain the challenges the Mississippi economy faces (i.e. the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill http://guides.library.msstate.edu/content.php?pid=137566&sid=1177782 and Unemployment http://www.bls.gov/sae/gulf_coast.htm) - Give an explanation of of the agencies who deal with Economic Development - the Governor's Office (http://www.governorbarbour.com/about/) and the Mississippi Economic Council (http://www.msmec.com/).
Once those changes have been made I would then explain the initiatives of the Mississippi Economic Council which are Momentum Mississippi and Blueprint Mississippi. These two initiatives are based off of the Blueprint Mississippi study which was an evaluation of how the state could pursue different avenues of economic development. Under both of these initiatives I would provide links to the website of the initiatives (Momentum - http://www.momentum-ms.org/mx/hm.asp?id=home and Blueprint - http://www.momentum-ms.org/mx/hm.asp?id=home). I would also give an understanding of what each program was targeting to help build Mississippi's economy, how they were founded, how they are administered, and how people can get involved with these initiatives.
My final suggestion is that a section be made about Recent Developments where news articles about business opening in Mississippi or about these initiatives being successes/failures to bring credibility to the page and to provide users with more information.
