I know people are being ridiculous with the ‘Thatcher’ edits etc but I think the whole controversy does deserve to be on her page. ElleBlair (talk) 18:54, 7 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The Margaret Thatcher comments should be taken off, this page should be strictly for information that is factual not opinions on Molly Mae herself therefore they should be taken off. 666DevilsAdvocate (talk) 10:42, 9 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I checked the first ten or so sources used in the article and all use her surname. I'm going to presume that, if not all, then the vast majority of sources in the article do the same. – 2.O.Boxing12:14, 12 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Change “she was born in Hitchin” to “she was born in Lister Hospital, Stevenage” (and perhaps, that she grew up in Hitchin). Citation is Molly-Mae Hague, Becoming Molly-Mae (2022) pp.1-2 82.42.201.77 (talk) 21:20, 12 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Done In this case, using a primary source is appropriate. However, keep in mind the policy on primary sources, especially WP:BLPPRIMARY. My justification for accepting this edit request and using a primary source is that the source is not a public document or record, but instead a published book, and that the information in question is strictly factual. Are you joking? That’s not any better, you can literally go on Google and find thousands of decent photos, why are you choosing ones where she is in the midst of speaking? ClaireJohnsonIndia (talk) 22:42, 27 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi ClaireJohnsonIndia, Wikipedia has strict policies regarding the use of images to ensure that the content on the site is legally and ethically sound. Copyright laws protect the rights of the creator of an image, and using images without permission can result in legal consequences.
Wikipedia strives to use images that are free for public use or have been appropriately licensed for use on the site. This means that images cannot simply be taken from random sources on the internet and used without proper attribution and permission.
Additionally, images used on Wikipedia must meet certain quality standards, including clarity and relevance to the topic at hand. Therefore, sometimes images of a person speaking may be the best available option for illustrating an article, even if there are other images available that show the person in a different context.
So, while there may be thousands of decent photos available online, Wikipedia has policies in place to ensure that only legally and ethically sourced images are used on the site, and that the images meet certain quality standards.
Despite searching extensively, I was unable to find any photos of her that were donated for use on Wikipedia. However, I did find a video on YouTube that was licensed under Creative Commons CC BY, which allowed me to take a screenshot and use it as her photo on Wikipedia. It is important to note that using copyrighted photos without permission is not allowed on Wikipedia, and this is why we must rely on photos with proper licensing for use.
