[edit]There have been no reports that mention a cause of death that I have seen in any obits. I don't think it can be justified to describe her death as "natural causes" - unless anyone knows different. SteveCrook 19:01, 5 February 2006 (UTC)
- I remember reading a few years ago (I think it may have been an interview with Ludovic Kennedy) that she was suffering from a rare degenerative brain condition. I haven't seen it mentioned in any of the obits I've seen, but I assume that was her cause of death. Crisso 17:42, 18 February 2006 (UTC)
- I heard that as well which was why I was surprised to see one contributer here record her death as "natural causes". SteveCrook 19:18, 18 February 2006 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:MOIRASHEARERSQ.jpeg
[edit]Image:MOIRASHEARERSQ.jpeg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

British or Sottish?
[edit]Was Moira British or Scottish? There are no Scottish passports (yet) so her passport said she was British. I thought that Scottish was always a part of British (that won't be popular with Scottish Nationalists, but it's true at the moment)
What do other people here think? SteveCrook (talk) 13:52, 27 March 2021 (UTC)
She's Scottish. What's the argument? She was born in Fife. Feel free to update all the various English and Welsh artists listed on Wikipedia to British. You'll check they all have passports, right? (User talk:213.127.89.59) earlier today (10th July 2021)
- Yes, but all of those people who happened to be born in Scotland or Wales (or England or Northern Ireland) are British by nationality - at least until those places get independence from Great Britain -- SteveCrook (talk) 21:41, 10 July 2021 (UTC)
Whatever floats your boat Steve. There a page of English ballerinas - could you update all of those to |nationality = British please, for the sake of good order? That would be so awesome. Everyone wants an accurate wikipedia indeed, reflecting what is written on their passports. Though I assume you know that, but don't really feel like doing it.
- I don't see any harm in listing her as Scottish - I don't think there's a Wikipedia rule that only things listed on your passport are real, and I think it's pretty well-established that people from Scotland are Scottish. If you're filling in the 'Nationality' section of an infobox, that should indeed be British as it is specifically asking for a nationality; but 'Scottish' seems fine in every other context.
