Unsourced content in lead

He lead currently says "he is known for his clinical finishing, dribbling, speed, and playmaking abilities" but none of the sources say any of this at all. --FMSky (talk) 15:12, 15 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Lead section

Nobody would dispute that Mohamed Salah is a great and hugely talented player, but the lead section should only be a concise summary of the most important content as per WP:LEAD.

The previous wording of the first paragraph in the lead section stated:

Known for his clinical finishing, dribbling, speed, and playmaking abilities, he is regarded as one of the best players of his generation and one of the greatest African players of all time.

I feel that this previous wording above was sufficient in the first paragraph.

The first paragraph in the lead section now states:

Widely regarded as one of the best players of his generation, one of the greatest African players of all time, and one of the greatest wingers in the history of the sport, he is known for his clinical finishing, dribbling, speed, and playmaking abilities.

My view is that the extra added content to the first paragraph of the lead section is not necessary for a concise summary.
