Adding a good illustrative picture - I think someone with good artistic skills (not me!, my skills are terrible) should add a picture produced in perhaps Jasc Paint Shop Pro or a good art program to display a Moebius Ring; Moebius Rings' are very cool concepts - a good illustration would really help to convey the idea. Personally, the way I think a good Moebius Ring would look like would be like a 3x4 room labyrinth, with the bottom center room being the entrance room.

  • The numbers would represent the door you go through, starting from 1(from outside to entrance), then 1 to 2, using arrows to indicate your direction within each room to the next door, then the next number represents the door you go through, and where that number ends up in another room, showing where you end up, and where you go from there, so 1 up to 2, right to 3, left to 4, etc., where warping takes you to another room, giving the impression that you're going on forever.

I think there might be another type of Moebius Ring too, but I'd have to research that first before adding it to Moebius Ring. Where going straight off of one side (eg. the right side) leads you to the left side, so four turns really would return you to your starting room, although overall the Moebius Ring in this case really would give you the impression of going on forever, or infinite. But this version is a different type of Moebius Ring than the normal one, I'll have to research it to learn what it's called.

Anyways, that's my interpretation of a good artistic representation of a Moebius Ring. Perhaps if I learn, I can illustrate it well enough to upload it, but I'll have to learn, that's why it might be better for someone else to do it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by TAz69x (talkcontribs) 06:41, 26 July 2007

I don't think this is what a Mobius Ring is.

[edit]

You may have seen something in some Manga comic referred to as a Mobius Ring, but I don't think that's what a Mobius Ring really is. I've looked around on the Internet and I can find no reference to anything remotely resembling what you describe.

That's not to say that what you've described isn't cool.

If you have a reference that you could cite, that would help. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sbroadwe (talkcontribs) 22:26, 19 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Are you sure you're not thinking of the similarly named, but completely different Möbius strip? TheIslander 23:28, 19 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No, I know what a Mobius Strip is. This article needs to cite its sources. Furthermore, this article references August Ferdinand Möbius, which seems completely inappropriate given the nature of its content. Sbroadwe (talk) 20:43, 26 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The reference to August was added afterwards by a Wikipedia admin, as well as categorizing the page. It was the admin that added most of the final info and finalized this page (including the Bleach reference, which doesn't really need to be cited, as it's physically part of that episode from what I saw (I watched it out of curiosity afterwards)).
I came across this page when I was corroborating a section of text I saw in an old encyclopedia I had. If I could remember what the text was, that might provide a reference, but the page itself doesn't really require one from what I can see, as it's a pretty simplistic/novel concept; which is difficult to cite.-TAz69x (talk) 15:52, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think he means a combination of rooms arranged as a hypercube.

[edit]

If you take a look at the animation on the hypercube article on WikiPedia, you'll see what he means. If you replace every cube in this animation by a room that has doors to all sides and all the doors are open, then you'll see yourself repeated over and over again as far as you can see (in every third room). The only difference between the Moebius Ring described here and the actual HyperCube is that the Moebius Strip has no paths leading up or down, where a HyperCube does. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 141.227.1.2 (talk) 09:20, 21 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Isn't this fiction?

[edit]

A reference is needed for this. I do not believe that this is anything other than an interesting idea referred to in a work of fiction under this name. If that is the case, then it should be clearly indicated that that that work is the sole source. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.195.223.227 (talk) 17:40, 23 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
