Name?
[edit]Is mo'nique an intentional referral to a french vulgar word? the French word 'nique' either means 'to mock' (faire la nique), or else it means 'to f___'. (yes, the f-word).i would be surprised if she didn't know this or no one ever told her this. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 193.190.253.150 (talk) 06:33, 8 March 2010 (UTC)

[edit]Is it true that this page was written by a publicist? Thanks, Hu Gadarn 21:07, 8 November 2006 (UTC)

Can yall post a picture of Mo'Nique on her profile???
[edit]Now that Mo'Nique is winning countless Critics Awards for "Precious" and now that she is a Golden Globe nominee, can yall post a picture of her on her profile? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.171.70.116 (talk) 15:51, 15 December 2009 (UTC)
I ADDED A PICTURE FINALLY!! --Pugalug (talk) 16:05, 21 January 2010 (UTC)
Hey! Where did her picture go??????? It was such a nice photo! Can someone put up another photo of her? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.171.70.116 (talk) 23:29, 25 January 2010 (UTC)
Can someone PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE post a picture of her...hopefully a picture of her at the Oscars!!!!!! She really needs a pic on this page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.188.168.98 (talk) 06:10, 10 March 2010 (UTC)
- Found a free image from the oscars that is, created by an U.S. federal government employee, public domain according to U.S. copyright law. Regretably cropping it will make her looking into some strange direction, so better keep the photo as is. Better images will come in future, I bet. --Martin H. (talk) 00:18, 14 March 2010 (UTC)
Mo'Nique just won a Golden Globe
[edit]Somebody should add that to the article.--201.166.41.5 (talk) 01:10, 18 January 2010 (UTC)
Damn!
[edit]Y'all are fast! 2 seconds after she won the Golden Globe it's already posted on her Wikipedia page! And I'm on the East Coast, so the show is live. --24.189.90.68 (talk) 01:11, 18 January 2010 (UTC)
LOL! That was EXACTLY ("Y'all are fast!") what I was coming here to post when I saw they already had "WON" under her Academy Award listing. I think some Wikieditors are sitting there, watching the awards with five browser windows open, waiting to click "submit" on the winner. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 166.183.189.118 (talk) 03:03, 8 March 2010 (UTC)
Award Nomination - Doesn't Belong in Heading?
[edit]I can list over 100 articles of famous performers for whom their current Wikipedia article states in their intro a major award they were nominated for or won. Here are a quick five: Geena Davis, Meryl Streep, Mariah Carey, Jack Nicholson, Marisa Tomei. Whoever put in the main article a non-seen text preventing people from mentioning the Academy Award nomination as "not belonging" in the intro text has absolutely no idea what they are talking about. Either that, or there are hundreds of articles that need revision based on this "rule". 68.44.196.111 (talk) 14:21, 2 February 2010 (UTC)
- Sorry, I forgot to log in. The above comment is mine. CouplandForever (talk) 14:23, 2 February 2010 (UTC)
- Please notice the location of the awards. They do not belong in the lede sentence, i.e. the fourth or fifth word of the article. This is based on a consensus from WikiProject Actor. See the sixth bullet point WP:ACTOR#On-going projects/to do lists BOVINEBOY2008 :) 15:05, 2 February 2010 (UTC)
The Onion
[edit]I attempted to remove an inappropriate link to The Onion (http://www.theonion.com/content/node/54908) which is currently listed under "interviews." My edit was called vandalism and reverted. The link itself is vandalism. This link points to a photo of Mo'nique with a funny caption (it says, "Mo'nique Know She Look Good"). Linking on Wikipedia to a joke like that is inappropriate, and I'm sure the page has had heavy traffic due to her Oscar win. I clicked on the link because I was baffled as to why an Onion link would appear there. I thought it might somehow be to the AV Club, but it is not. It's really very vulgar. Can someone with authority to edit pages please remove the link? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.174.52.106 (talk) 04:18, 11 March 2010 (UTC)
- I agree; I removed it. Thanks, Chzz ► 04:22, 11 March 2010 (UTC)
- Lmao, I agree too, and I removed it also. WTH? --Ecstacy Xtcy3 04:23, 11 March 2010 (UTC)
This might sound stupid
[edit]It might sound stupid for a wikipedia article but Monique doesnt shave her legs. I saw it in a (i think) barbara walters interview and she talked about not shaving her legs, i don't remember the reason why she doesnt but she was serious about it. I dont know if this is of any importance. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.183.10.251 (talk) 00:55, 15 August 2010 (UTC)
