Addition of 'Assessment' section

[edit]

Hi all, I integrated the content from the advantages and challenges section into their related sections, where I could find references for this content since it did not have any. I plan on adding an 'Assessment' or similarly titled section to the article to discuss some of the research into mitigation banking and its outcomes. Recent edits

[edit]

Hi all, I have made some recent edits to this page in the hopes that it might be less confusing. I redid the short description and added a terminology section to clarify the relationship between mitigation banking and related concepts like compensatory mitigation, biodiversity banking, and biodiversity offsetting. I hope this will help to address the issue of the page being confusing or unclear to readers.

I intend to make additional changes to expand its sections and to address the issue of lack of references. I also plan to make changes to the environmental mitigation page since this covers related concepts.

Thank you! Manxshearwater (talk) 09:49, 1 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I have also made some recent edits to the history section so please check this out! Manxshearwater (talk) 15:32, 5 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I can't edit this page because I can't understand it. I want to just comment:

Boy is this EVER confusing! I still can't figure out what the terms "bank" and "credit" mean in this article. Would someone please please break this down to an ABC 123 level for people who know zero about the subject? Thank you!!!

Susan

I tried to fix the "multiple issues" listed at the top by creating a "mitigation credits" section which identifies what exactly mitigation credits are and how they differ from a mitigation bank. I also used and added multiple credible sources such as "RIBITS" developed by the US Army Corps of Engineers and an article about mitigation banking written by the Washington State Department of Ecology under the US Army Corps of Engineers.

I added 'History' and 'Challenges' sections to give context to the process of mitigation banking and make the article well rounded. I hope these edits break this confusing topic down for people with zero knowledge on the subject!

Congratulations

[edit]

Congratulations on making it to today's listing on the "Did You Know..." section of Wikipedia Main Page. The process of making it the listing takes a bit of effort and involves the quick cooperation of many editors. All involved deserve recognition, appreciation, thanks and applause.

Best Regards,
