Why is there a citation needed when it is explained in Wikipedia what Dana is? Why do i sense super-aspergers again? [...]Dāna or Daan (Pāli, Sanskrit: दान dāna) is generosity or giving. In Hinduism and Buddhism, it is the practice of cultivating generosity.[...] "generosity of giving" does not exclude "sharing of information" and thus the analogy works. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.194.247.228 (talk) 22:07, 6 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Looks like someone thought "CTRL-C CTRL-V" was enough here. Most of this huge amount of text is cleary pasted from a document and has not been formatted properly or spell checked. This needs a lot of touching up. It was at least legible enough for me to be converted though.--194.80.204.19 (talk) 11:23, 16 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Charity means love, not sharing. Hosea is talking about the knowledge of God, not generic knowledge --74.192.204.167

Charity is showing kindness and love by bieng generous. And knowledge is knowledge, as long as it is not misinformation/disinformation --Ne0Freedom 04:08, 20 January 2012 (UTC)

Topics for elaboration/improvement

[edit]

The source for the sentence "Gerson has denied any connection between the Church and filesharing site The Pirate Bay." seems to come from a personal blog interview. The blog post also ends with the author's personal opinion on the creator, Isak Gerson, which leads me to doubt its neutrality - " I fear turning file-sharing into a religion is likely to ridicule a way too serious problem or, even worse, to exasperate an already dangerously heated debate." Also, the section of "Sharing has been widely advocated in many religions, through forms such as alms." lacks a source. There a lot of room for improvement and elaboration. Right now, the lack of information presents an impression that distracts me from the rest of the article. Jerryfu10 (talk) 22:54, 12 October 2016 (UTC)Jerryfu10[reply]

Being Isak Gerson, I can confirm that none of the people involved had anything to do with the pirate bay (except being very frequent users, and knowing some people involved socially) Laxsill (talk) 23:06, 5 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Parody religion

[edit]

Is there a source that state that this is a parody religion? If there is none, I do not think its appropriate to have the Parody religion link in the See also list. Belorn (talk) 07:04, 16 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Religious Orders

[edit]

I can't find any sort of mention of these religious orders off of the wikipedia page and the page's citation is to a whole subreddit - no searches through which reveal anything of the sort. Anyone have a link to a resource that mentions them other than this page? 50.101.167.125 (talk) 05:32, 20 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Copying of personal information

[edit]

Is there any information about copying of personal information of other people? I found this quote on their website:

"In our belief, communication is sacred. Communication needs to be respected. It is a direct sin to monitor and eavesdrop on people." - http://kopimistsamfundet.se/english/

It's a sin to publish private information? This seems to be the direct oposite of "Copying of information is ethically right;". A clarification about this would be nice since this is probably one of the frequently asked questions about this religion. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 188.108.15.94 (talk) 03:24, 3 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It's a religion. It doesn't have to make sense.--Auric talk 01:11, 23 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
It is a conflict. I made a blog post where I commented on this and that I did not believe it, but that isn't germane to the article, except to represent that there are people who believe in the core belief, read this, and reject this particular deviation from the core belief. Kopimi symbol and Kopimism

[edit]

This may be of interest: I wrote something about the origins of the Kopimi symbol and the term Kopimism on Piratbyrån#Kopimi. Cheers, Manifestation (talk) 22:29, 3 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Wedding

[edit]

Hi, being Isak Gerson, mentioned in the article, I want to clarify two things. 1. That was not the first wedding, I did attend the first one (that I know if) before this one. But it was really low profile. 2. I didn't witness this wedding. I was at the conference, but I wasn't at that particular wedding. I don't have a source but myself and my life though. I know you people can be strict about that (and I deeply thank you for it, wish I had the time to get into the Wikipedia world myself). Laxsill (talk) 23:10, 5 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
