Recent cleanup
[edit]In these edits I did a significant cleanup pass. There were a few pieces of promotional fluff like the award-winning nature of the director, the fact that Amitabh gave it a "thumbs up", and so forth. Critical response should from critics. The fact that the director has won awards doesn't tell us anything about the film, and only serves to promote the film, which is not what we're here for. The contributors should also keep in mind that verifiability does not guarantee inclusion. We're not here to log everything that has ever been said about the film, we're here to summarize the film, the makers, the reception.
The plot section needs to be addressed. There's content about The Pradhan of Tanakpur, but it seems randomly placed with no connective tissue to what should be a clear explanation of the plot. There are also vague statements about a character performing "an unspeakable crime". I've seen the trailer, but I do not speak the language. What it looks like to me, is that a guy has sex with a cow, and the community makes him marry her. Is that the gist of it? If so, then that needs to be adequately explained in the article, not hidden behind vague statements. Note WP:NOTCENSORED. It may be difficult to get a clear writeup of the plot since the film has not yet been released. However, the clean-up templates should remain in the article until someone addresses the specific issues. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 19:54, 3 June 2015 (UTC)
- Addendum: I reverted this edit by Prithviraj2002 because I wasn't satisfied with the explanation, "Producer as per credits in end slate is Vinay Tiwari. Crossword Films is the production house involved, but legally Vinay Tiwari gets credited as producer". Though I don't doubt the veracity of the editor's statement (I suspect a conflict of interest, actually) the change represents original research as there is no existing reference that can be validated. The film can be used as a primary source for non-controversial content of this sort, but the film hasn't been released yet, which means that it cannot be accessed to verify. If another reference can be found to verify a different producer credit, (like BFI.co.uk, for instance) then we should go with that, otherwise, the theatrical poster would be a go-to for that info just like for any other major film. If Bollywood can't figure out how to format a proper theatrical poster, then the consequences are all on them. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 02:27, 4 June 2015 (UTC)
Plot again
[edit]I mentioned this in the comment above this one, but I'll address it again. In this edit an IP added plot details that don't actually explain what the story is. The content comes off as a promotional teaser or something. A plot section should clearly explain what happens in the film, and that's just not being achieved in the version linked above. I haven't seen the film and likely will not see the film, so I don't know how to improve it other than to cut it to the most bare description. The content added also appears to be copy/pasted from one of many sources, so we can't use it anyway. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 13:24, 9 July 2015 (UTC)
