[edit]The Manitowoc paper doesn't allow open access to its archives anymore, but the last I checked demoltion plans for the downtown building are on hold. (To meet fire code regulations, the owner just had to spend a lot of money installing a sprinkler system.) -MrBula, 04:41, 15 September 2006
- It's cool, then. I didn't realize that things had changed in regard to demolition.JakeApple 14:23, 16 September 2006 (UTC)
- A thought, can we re-work that part to note that the plans are now on hold? Something like:
- "In December of 2005, Mirro's landmark plant and former headquarters in downtown Manitowoc was purchased by Kenneth Lemberger, the owner of a local construction company. He announced plans to tear down what is considered to be the city's most visible reminder of the company's history. However, those plans are now on hold."
- I just think the fate of this building is worth noting, since it's been such a major part of downtown Manitowoc for so long, and was kind of the "face of the company." JakeApple 14:53, 16 September 2006 (UTC)
- Good idea. I added that in. -MrBula 17:03, 17 September 2006.
- Thanks! :o) -JakeApple 03:41, 20 September 2006 (UTC)
Updating
[edit]This article is on my list of Wisconsin based manufacturers' articles to expand. I will be doing a news paper search and adding a lot of information and references in the near future. Nyth83 (talk) 03:46, 22 April 2014 (UTC)
Note to user at IP 69.183.117.146. Please create a login so that we can communicate on your talk page. I feel that your removal of the nickname for Mirro and the reference to Tramontina is approaching the line of vandalism. Nyth83 (talk) 11:16, 22 April 2014 (UTC)
Buliding Photos
[edit]@Asher Heimermann. The subject of the article is the Mirro company, not just one of the buildings that it once owned. The one old building is NOT the subject of the article. If you want to be consistent, you would need to take and post photos of ALL the buildings that they owned and then add them to the gallery. And I stand corrected, the building you photographed still exists. What was demolished was the three-story structure in the NE corner of that block. You did not post photos of the southern building in that block, the building in the next block west, or the buildings in the industrial park in the NE of Manitowoc on Mirro Drive. Again, I reiterate, the SUBJECT of the ARTICLE is the COMPANY, not ONE of its old BUILDINGS. Nyth63 15:04, 25 January 2015 (UTC)
