Most of this article's content is not about the office of Minister for the Civil Service, but about the Civil Service in general. Should it be taken out? 83.199.67.250 (talk) 17:53, 24 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Wilson

[edit]

I thought Mrs Thatcher was the first PM to hold this office not Wilson? Penrithguy (talk) 15:31, 12 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

-- There seems to be no mention of the Civil Service Department as a specific department of State which did in fact have its own Minister. The department was abolished by Margaret Thatcher in 1982, upon which she did absorb the duties of Minister for the Civil Service, whilst pay and appointment reverted to the Treasury. All this is from memory, so some contemporary documentation would need to be dug up. Silas Maxfield (talk) 00:52, 17 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
