Justification for disambiguation

Minification has two meanings, optical de-magnification and a software coding technique. I do not see any reason to give the de-magnification meaning precedence over the software technique. Redirecting to magnification is very confusing since the reader is looking for the opposite.
Minification has no psychological meaning except as it relates to optical de-magnification and visual perception. It is unrelated to Minimisation (psychology) and a redirect to that article is unlikely to take a reader where they intended. Second sentence: "When this number is less than one it refers to a reduction in size, sometimes called minification or de-magnification." This means magnification includes minification - a continuum from infinitely small to infinitely large. Joja lozzo 22:03, 7 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
