Lack of Neutrality

[edit]

There is an unacceptable lack of neutrality in the "Mergers & Acquisitions" section of the MindSpring article.

The company is gone, let people reminisce as long as it isn't factually incorrect. Emotions shade our impresion of all past experiences. 71.112.27.85 06:29, 1 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Could you please site specifics on where you may believe incorrect information is cited? Sunflowerhealing (talk) 23:04, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • OK, I rewrote parts of the article and added lots of citations. I removed the bit about the employee in pajamas- I vaguely remember something like that happening, but unless someone can find a citation (maybe in the AJC), it should stay out of the article. Core Values and Beliefs

[edit]

Why was the section on the Core Values and Beliefs removed? This was a very big part of the MindSpring experience from the employees' perspective. Unless there is opposition to having them there, I will reinsert the section with some rewording of the intro. Ipsuid 13:58, 29 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

CV&B's section should not be removed. It is the founding principles on which Charles Brewer built the company, whether it was a cheese factory or a candy store. Sunflowerhealing (talk) 23:04, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

I'd like to offer that as far as I can recall, MindSpring Enterprises and EarthLink Network merged into a new company EarthLink, Inc. and therefore did not retain the name EarthLink after the merger. Sunflowerhealing (talk) 23:04, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Mission and Vision Statement

[edit]

Does anyone have a copy they can add?

creepy

[edit]

indeed, the "employees" section is very weirdo. i agree with the tags. --Kvuo (talk) 07:36, 28 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know that I'd call it creepy, but the employee section is now a real mess. It's also inaccurate. Employee-name level of detail isn't needed in the article. I'll try to come back and clean it up. I'm very sentimental about MindSpring's history as well, but the Wiki article isn't the place to record every single memory and miniscule detail. Removing the last few paragraphs makes the section a lot better. I think the problem with the first part of the section is that MindSpring was indeed a unique place to work, and it's hard to properly express that in an impartial way. Rjhatl (talk) 15:35, 16 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
