Order of Candidates

[edit]

Please follow the standard guidelines for candidate order at: Wikipedia:WikiProject UK Parliament constituencies/Style for order of candidateCj1340 (talk) 13:23, 17 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

(I have copied the text below from article space, where it should not be visible. It is left there, but as a hidden comment):

The candidate-order prior to election declaration is specified at: Wikipedia:WikiProject UK Parliament constituencies - Style - Election candidates. This follows the legal specification issued by the Electoral Commission.[1]

Population

[edit]

This data item is an important omission, given the local assertion that MK is under-represented in proportion to its population. Is there really no readily accessible source for this? --John Maynard Friedman (talk) 23:32, 16 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Try: http://www.mkiobservatory.org.uk/page.aspx?id=1652&siteID=1026 However, I don't know the source of the data and how the population splits across the two constituencies. Typically a UK constituency is 70-80,000 voters (ie age 18 and above).Cj1340 (talk) 07:11, 17 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

2010 - Conservative hold or gain?

[edit]

The 2010 result records this as a Conservative hold. I know Mark Lancaster won the old North East Seat seat in 2005, but that had different boundaries to Milton Keynes North. The change figures here imply the notional 2005 result on the 2010 boundaries would have been Con 36.2% Lab 37.9% so a Labour win. Also it is listed as gain in the Times Guide to the House of Commons 2010,[2] so I would propose changing this.
