- After Anglicizing "soldat" to "private" are you then in favor of continuing the process and substituting English for all other Russian ranks?
Example, "Starshina" to "Petty Officer". Personally, I think that the Russian should be retained with parallel English equivalents - otherwise there is little point to the table.Федоров (talk) 12:16, 23 October 2010 (UTC)
- First of all it's "private" in russian called "riadovoy" not "soldat", soldat means simply soldier. And regarding what rank name should be translated and what should be transliterated or anglicized —- well, it's open for debate. Maybe we can put both in one table.
