Rank structure?
[edit]Is there a citation in support of placing the cadete and aspirante in the hierarchy between the sub-tenante and the 2º tenente? 38.100.34.2 23:48, 27 April 2007 (UTC)
- I don't think the ranks are ordinal. I think they're just a listing.--Dali-Llama 00:56, 28 April 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, "cadete" and "aspirante" are the same rank, students in police academies. In the hierarchy a "aspirante" stands right between "2º tenente" and "subtenente".
- "Subtenente" is, generally, someone that entered the police with the rank of soldier and make his way all to the top of the "praças" class (sort of non-comissioned officers), while "2º tenente" or could be a upgraded "subtenente" or the rank of a "aspirante" after completing a 3-year police course.
- From "2º tenente" upwards we have comissioned officers ("oficiais"), while from "subtenente" downwards we have non-comissioned officers ("praças"). --Officer Boscorelli (talk) 13:51, 11 June 2010 (UTC)
