[edit]

I was bold and expanded the article . It still needs copyediting to fix the Style but I would like to know about copyright and which images are fair use to help improve the article.. Thanks Mrchris (talk) 00:06, 28 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have any specific image in mind? A fair-use image is a doctrine under which one uses a copyright image without permission. On wikipedia once uploaded it is an image that complies with all 10 non-free content criteria and also has a fully completed fair-use rationale attached justifying its use. Because the subject of this article is dead it may be possible to make a reasonable justification for a fair-use image. You may want to read my image copyright information page to understand most questions you raised above. I am not watching this page, so drop me a note if you need more help or advise. You can also ask media questions at WP:MCQ where I hang out quite a bit. Good luck. ww2censor (talk) 03:56, 28 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. Mrchris (talk) 04:29, 28 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
You might compare it with the article on Elizabeth Thompson, another Irish artist, which contains a number of images (I'm not saying they were correctly uploaded though!). BTW, this article is no longer a stub. Hohenloh + 21:38, 30 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Elizabeth Thompson died more than 70 years ago, while Mildred Anne Butler died just 69 years ago, this has issues for copyright of images, as far as I can tell. Mrchris (talk) 15:32, 6 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
