Contested deletion

This page should not be speedy deleted as an unambiguous copyright infringement, because... (your reason here) --Jonnychiwa (talk) 00:44, 31 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I made this page from the Czech version already available on Wikipedia. I added translated historical information from the village's website and gave a source which is a public municipal website. I'm a bit confused as to why it's up for speedy deletion

Two things, Jonnychiwa: because all our work here is licenced CC BY-SA 3.0, if you copy or translate content from any other part of Wikipedia you must provide attribution for the work of the people who created that content; for a translation, the best way to do that is to put a {{translated page}} template on the talk-page. You can copy this code:
   {{translated page| Source Language Code | Source Page Title | version=123456789 | insertversion=987654321 | small=no }}
If you have any difficulty with that, please say so (here is fine).
Secondly, we can't copy any material, even in translation, from non-free external sources – that is against our copyright policy. I see no indication that the municipal page is licenced in a way that would allow us to use it (and even if it was, we'd still need attribution, as discussed above). I've removed that content; you're free to write about the history and the church, but you must write entirely in your own words.
