Regarding Mikis Theodorakis' Anti-Zionism

I have reliable news sources that mention Theodorakis is a self-proclaimed anti-Zionist and self-proclaimed anti-Semite. I will also mention that he believes the Holocaust was a horrifying crime against humanity and does not deny it. I will mention the conspiracy theories he believes. I decided to take this to the article's talk page. 108.13.114.31 (talk) 00:40, 27 December 2015 (UTC)

This subject has been dealt with in the past. Please see the long discussions in the archive and at various noticeboards through the years. Here are two links from the archive: Talk:Mikis_Theodorakis/Archive_1#Accusations_of_anti-semitism_section and Talk:Mikis_Theodorakis/Archive_1#Suggested_material. Dr. K. 00:45, 27 December 2015 (UTC)
Would it be fine to say that he opposes Zionism as Theodorakis says himself? It's well documented in established newspapers. 108.13.114.31 (talk) 05:09, 27 December 2015 (UTC)

Political views, portrayal as anti-semite

In the political views section, one might think that Mikis Theodorakis is a real anti-semite. Maybe he said those things, but the article doesn't provide a balanced view on this matter.

For instance, he has condemned the holocaust and thought it was a disgrace that Golden Dawn members denied it. He also called it one of the most cruel things that humans did and felt ashamed to be human at the thought of the holocaust.

http://www.eurojewcong.org/greece/9688-greek-jews-praise-theodorakis-stance-on-holocaust-denial.html

And he also said that he was wrong in his remarks that he was an anti-semite:

“Theodorakis sent a letter to the board, that was published in the Greek media, in which he tried to prove that he is not an anti-Semite, he is a friend of the Jewish people and he hates anti-Semitism as he hates Zionism. At the end of his letter he claims that his recent remark during an interview that ‘I am anti- Semite’ was just a wrong use of word,” Eliezer wrote. http://www.jpost.com/International/Austrian-parliament-bars-Holocaust-song-by-Theodorakis

EON membership

Is it alright if I detail about this, Mikis was a member of the EON in his youth. SJCAmerican (talk) 01:34, 14 July 2018 (UTC)

Mikis Theodorakis, Macedonia rally

@Dr.K.:, Mikis Theodorakis was a prominent voice at the Macedonia rally in 2018 and made himself a public figure in the debate. Why should this not be covered when parts of the article about him, his political views stem from news sources. Cited in the article was Greek Reporter [1], a Greek news outlet. There are many more that reported on Theodorakis, even internationally. If its more sources, there are heaps even Greek language ones that i can add.Resnjari (talk) 04:11, 12 February 2018 (UTC)

Please see WP:RECENTISM. So what, many Greeks feel strongly about the Mac naming dispute. He does too. Nothing remarkable about that. Also, if we open a section every time Mikis makes a speech, this article will become "List of Speeches by Mikis". We really don't need that. Further, we don't have to open a section on this recent development and also add a rebuttal from the spokesman of Syriza. That's UNDUE on top of being RECENT. Also, please no pinging. I know how to navigate to discussions. Dr. K. 04:38, 12 February 2018 (UTC)
Second everything Dr. K. said. The bit about the Syriza government is especially tendentious. Khirurg (talk) 07:40, 12 February 2018 (UTC)
I think it warrants at least a mention in the "political views" section, DR. K, according to Wikipedia "Allegations of recentism should prompt consideration of proportion, balance, and due weight" I don't think adding this one thing will cause any issues with proportion or balance SJCAmerican (talk) 01:37, 14 July 2018 (UTC)
