EARLY LIFE
Cerrone was born in Providence, Rhode Island to Maryann, and Alfred Cerrone. Maryann raised four boys and Alfred owned Cerrone Auto Dealerships in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Cerrone was raised with three brothers: Alfred, Stephen, and Phillip. His mother and father are both of Italian descent. At age 10, he moved from Providence Rhode Island to Cumberland Rhode Island. His early childhood in Providence was spent mostly watching cartoons and The Three Stooges comedies and playing street hockey. Upon moving to Cumberland, Cerrone took up ice hockey, which he played from pee wees, to professional hockey ten years later.
While receiving decent grades in high school, Cerrone excelled at ice hockey at Phillips Andover Academy in Andover, Massachusetts. This helped him to gain admission to Yale University then on to University of Stockholm where he obtained a BA in language. After three years of playing professional hockey and studying in Sweden, Cerrone moved back to the states and joined the family dealership. He eventually moved to Los Angeles where he now resides.
CAREER
1991-2000 In 1991, Peter and Bobby Farrelly, long time childhood friends, approached Cerrone to collaborate on a spec script. Though it didn’t sell for four years, Me Myself and Irene was a commercial success. In that time period, Cerrone also collaborated with the Farrellys on King Pin, and Something About Mary. He also penned a workplace sitcom set in a family-run car dealership. Cerrone left the family dealership and moved to Vermont where Me Myself and Irene was being filmed.
2000-2005 In early 2000, Cerrone collaborated on the re-write polishes of Shallow Hal, Stuck on You, and Osmosis Jones. He also created and wrote the workplace sitcom Clearwater CC. In 2005, Cerrone moved to Los Angeles to write The Three Stooges script with the Farrellys and to be closer to his agent.
2009-2014 Cerrone spent time travelling California, Montana, and Nevada writing Dumb and Dumber To.
2014-present Cerrone continues to write and polish spec scripts for features and television. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Belindamckl (talk • contribs) 19:43, 29 December 2018 (UTC)
- @Belindamckl: The changes will not be restored just because you allege that Cerrone wants them made. The changes need to be backed up with published reliable sources. Further, your conflict of interest, based on your assertion that you're editing at the direction of Cerrone, means you should not be directly editing the article. You may continue to request edits here on the talk page. —C.Fred (talk) 19:59, 29 December 2018 (UTC)
