Page needs more content on projects

[edit]

The page would benefit from elaboration on the many significant societal contributions of Payis-funded projects. Perhaps this can be obtained and translated from its official website (which appears to be in Hebrew only). In cleaning up the English, I just reworded based on my knowledge as a resident of Israel's geographic periphery and translator for NGOs that receive Payis funding. -- Deborahjay (talk) 13:22, 10 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

the he.wiki entry is model

[edit]

This en.wiki entry is starter. Among editing needs are more complete references.

In contrast, the corresponding entry in the Hebrew wikipedia (as of 15 Oct 2016) has 33 refs, many external sources, graphs, etc. The outline of outline is translated as follows:

>> 1 History 1.1 The Mifal HaPayis Building 2. Division of revenue 2.1 Support for public 3 The lottery games of the Israel Mifal HaPayis 3.1 "Loto" 3.1.1 Changes in the Loto over time 3.2 "Extra" lottery 3.3 "Chance" 3.4 "Payis 777" 3.5 "Payis 123" 3.6 "Khishgad" (instant scratch) 3.7 "Keno" 3.8 "Pais Place" 3.9 Subscribers Programs 3.10 "The big lottery" 4 the machines used for the Mifal HaPayis lotteries 5 Principle Rules of the Lotteries 6 Distribution 7 Criticism 8 See also 9 External links 10 References <<

There's no reason to provide equivalent English wiki entry here - just noting the Hebrew wiki entry as more complete source and possible model for here. The public criticism of the gambling monopoly is an important exception, which should be reported in English.

There are English pages to all the 9 menus on the Mifal HaPayis official website but apparently with less depth of information than the corresponding Hebrew website.

I added to the External links:

A criticism section with recent English language sources still could be added. Otherwise the English reader is advised to see a translation of the corresponding entry in the Hebrew wikipedia which now has 68 references. In contrast, this start en.wiki entry sitll has company PoV, few sources, references with missing dates,...-Yohananw (talk) 09:42, 12 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
