[edit]Explaining why I cut the 'Every drop is as deadly as every other part of me' quote. It was unclear in the book itself why Midnighter would describe his blood as 'deadly' to justify transfusing it into a critical patient, and the context here didn't make it any clearer. I think the entry is stronger without it. Molly Doonesbury 21:51, 22 December 2006 (UTC)
Height and weight
[edit]If Midnighter is 6'5" and 165 lbs., he should be very thin. Possibly 265 lbs. is meant?
- Geez, I hadn't even thought of that. But I double checked, and the driver's license indeed says 6' 5" and 165 lbs. (Also, don't forget to sign your posts.) Nightscream 05:16, 4 August 2007 (UTC)
He is clearly NOT 165 lbs. The license must be in error, or intended as a sardonic joke by the artist and writer. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 206.180.133.81 (talk) 03:38, 30 August 2008 (UTC)

Here Be Cruft
[edit]There is a lot of unnecessary info in this article, such as hair color and whatnot. I keep asking myself - is this vital to an understanding of the character, his interaction with his fellow characters and his development by the writing team? If the answer is no (or even 'I'm not sure'), it needs to be cut. This article suffers from rather severe bloat and needs trimming. - Arcayne (cast a spell) 18:14, 8 October 2007 (UTC)
- Indeed - vital stats were removed form the superhero infobox because... well they don't actually exist. I'd support removing that section for starters and then seeing what else can be done to trim things down. (Emperor 19:22, 8 October 2007 (UTC))
- I don't see a Vital Statistics section as cruft, but I'll listen to the arguments of others who wish to argue otherwise. If consensus agrees, I'll concede to it. Nightscream 19:24, 8 October 2007 (UTC)
- Emperor is correct in that vital statistics for fictional characters vary wildly from writer to writer (usinf Majestic array of abilities for example), so it isn't to be considered stable int he least. Wikipedia, being encyclopedic, strives for a certain level of stability. Crufty bits such as dye jobs/screwed up inking and retroactive explanations to perpetuate CYA isn't at all encyclopedic. - Arcayne (cast a spell) 19:50, 8 October 2007 (UTC)
Flagship character?
[edit]Superman is DC's flagship character, and came first, not Batman. If you insist on a cite, then I would point out that asserting that Batman is a flagship character also needs a cite, and if cites are not forthcoming for either assertion, then I would omit the word "flagship" as a compromise, since it's not relevant to Midnighter anyway. (It arguably is relevant to articles on Supes and Bats.) Nightscream 19:24, 8 October 2007 (UTC)
- I agree with the compromise, but not the logic leading to it. Bats and Supes are both flagship items for DC. Seniority is not the criteria for selection. Spidey is arguably Marvel's, even though the FF and others came first. Anyway, the path arrived at is the same. Remove it. :) - Arcayne (cast a spell) 19:46, 8 October 2007 (UTC)
Artificial neural enhancements and artificial augmentation
[edit]What is the difference of these two? I suspect that the neural enhancements also gives him the ability to calculate counters.. so here is my two cents, to explain Lucas' abilities: Artificial augmentation and artificial neural enhancements grants him superhuman strength, speed, endurance, healing factor, reflexes and the ability to calculate over a million possible combat scenarios in a second.Jbritp 00:00, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
There really isn't. It's all crufty. The dude was artificially enhanced, and with every comic, the guy appears to take on brand new abilities. Someone on the writing staff needs to cut down on the Red Bull and Bolivian Marching Powder. - Arcayne (cast a spell) 03:11, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
If I may, I have rephrased the description of Midnighter's abilities: Artificial enhancements grants augmented strength, speed, reflexes, immune system, secondary heart and neural induction capable of calculating over a million possible combat scenarios in a second. I think this is a better and clearer explanation of his abilities at the description slot.Jbritp (talk) 00:13, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
Midnighter #10
[edit]The summary for Midnighter #10 (or should we just label it #10-#15?) needs to be fixed so that it doesn't sound so set in stone that Midnighter is in fact Lucas Trent and all that. I tried doing it myself right now, but I couldn't come up with a good wording for it. I did quickly remove the name "Lucas Trent" in the bio when it stated it as his real name. I also took it off of his 'alias'. If it should still be on alias, you can fix that since the last issue out (#15) did hint that he might live in Harmony. Ziplizard (talk) 05:30, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
- I guess I don't understand. Is it contended that Lucas Trent isn't his identity? - Arcayne (cast a spell) 08:53, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
- It is in fact contended. Midnighter is unaware of his identity. During the recent miniseries, he was led to believe that he was Lucas Trent, a condition that remained for several issues. That has now been contradicted, but without a different name to give him.68.59.77.61 (talk) 15:58, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
- In that case, we should leave it as an alias and leave the main identity infobox as 'unknown'. Thoughts? - Arcayne (cast a spell) 21:32, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
- What exactly was revealed in issue #10? The passage under Midnighter (series) says that it's his real name. Nightscream (talk) 07:51, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

30 June 08 edit
[edit]I've just given the article a general copyedit and slight prune - feel free to ask here about anything I've done. In re. the last section, I noted that he found out Jenny had faked the Trent identity - hope that's an acceptable response to the problem. There are some gaps I've been unable to address:
- Story arcs after #15. (I made it to #18 and then dropped the title)
- Midnighter's involvement in Armageddon, Number of the Beast, Prime, World's End and all these other WSU crossover books.
- The book's cancellation with #20 (unless I'm wrong on that?) - might be worth noting, and providing a reason.
It'd be great if anyone feels like taking those on. Gonzonoir (talk) 20:33, 30 June 2008 (UTC)

Joker
[edit]When did the Midnighter confront the Joker and/or mention not being able to win the fight? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.1.148.211 (talk) 18:18, 26 March 2012 (UTC)
