About the coordinates...

[edit]

Michigan Bar was named for a sandbar and the name came to cover a mining district and a town. Per Wikipedia's directions, a post office is used as a geographic point of identity for a community. The National Archives has Michigan Bar's application for a post office and it includes the specific location. This location is DIFFERENT FROM the location of the National Register of Historic Places marker. Since the article is about the town and not about the marker, I've posted the town's coordinates and not the marker's. The sheet from the application is in the article's references.
