CataracticPlanets’ revision under the title "deleted irrelevant and inappropriate "external images" section" merits close attention. Treating this section as something foreign to the article, he does not explain, unfortunately, what distinguishes relevant images from irrelevant ones. On what grounds does he proclaim the section in question to be inappropriate? One must not forget about the fact that Pani Waterson is not only a fighter but also a model. In addition, she is an actress. Hence it follows that her photos are "an important illustrative aid to understanding." --Janggun Dungan (talk) 19:11, 19 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

long n borin -- spice it up

[edit]

article is too long and boring for this girl. more fitting of some old washed up fart like paul mccartney or yoko ono. can someone spice it up? how bout some risque fotos? Senor dellums (talk) 23:22, 1 November 2008 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Janggun Dungan (talkcontribs) [reply]

Adding images to Wikipedia articles is something more than an arbitrary arrangement of arbitrarily dug-up photos:

Images must be significant and relevant in the topic's context!!!!!!

According to the rules of our encyclopaedia, the significance of images consists in their providing "an important illustrative aid to understanding." That cannot be said of this photo which does not give us an illustration relying on what one could understand the generally accepted point of view, according to which Michelle Waterson is the most beautiful woman in MMA. She is much more beautiful in real life than she looks on the above-mentioned photo. Upload another one.

Besides, Gomez (thehulk) has shown with profound penetration that the whole variety of Michelle Waterson's images is divided into two mutually exclusive categories: 1) "This is how she looks when not in the ring" 2) "And THIS is how she looks inside the ring." In this type of classification, this photo belongs to the second category. Now it is incumbent on us to upload an image from the first category which the most interesting one. As an example, take this amazing photo and upload it to Wikimedia Commons in order to overcome one-sidedness in the treatment of the subject-matter of the present article. --Janggun Dungan (talk) 11:26, 22 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Usually the greatest restriction is the Wikipedia:Image use policy, namely that photos need to be explicitly free to reuse and edit like the rest of the Wikipedia. Most photos that can be found on the web, including that Instagram image, aren't. If you want to take some free photos, or convince the photographer or other copyright owner of photos to make them free, please go ahead, and we'd love to use them. Until then, though, this is the best we can get. --GRuban (talk) 20:07, 23 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@GRuban: So I regret to admit that uploading the submitted photo, to use Aigerim Mergenbay's words, is "мүмкін емес." BTW, I've read your interview with Rob Walker. Thx for interesting information. To tell the truth, I'm not surprised at the fact that a journalist doesn't feel like sharing his images with Wikipedia and

tried to convince him (you) that nobody really cared what I (he) look like.

But I can't understand that such a pretty model as Michelle Waterson adheres to a conviction which is similar in principle to that of Rob Walker. Everybody cares how a model looks like. --Janggun Dungan (talk) 15:45, 25 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Feel free to ask her to release a free photo. Sometimes it works. Rarely, but not 0. See Wikipedia:Example requests for permission for templates. --GRuban (talk) 16:11, 25 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
