Speedy delete notes
[edit]Article's only reference 404s. Article created by single-purpose editor Gododding Publishing, who is also the subject's publisher. Appears to be submitted for promotional purposes. An author with 2 or 3 works is not de facto notable. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 00:23, 10 February 2014 (UTC)
- The works are notable, thus the author is and 404 errors aren't a reason for exclusion: webpages die all the time, but can offer sources at any point. I would suggest discussing this more generally at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Cyr Myrddin, the Coming of Age of Merlin with the intention of merging the works in the author page perhaps? Sadads (talk) 00:44, 10 February 2014 (UTC)
- The author might be notable, but there's no way a user (like myself) who is unfamiliar with the subject can discern that. That was the nature of my A7 speedy delete, i.e. no indication of the subject's importance exists in the article. So I think the speedy delete nom was legit. In consideration of the information you've provided, I could go either way on this. If you're interested beefing the article up at all that it answers questions about notability, I'll yield. But if you're not interested, I don't mind PROD-ing it with the hope that it will light a fire under someone's ass somewhere. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 01:34, 10 February 2014 (UTC)
- And I created the article, not the single purpose editor. That is a misreading of the history on your part,Sadads (talk) 00:45, 10 February 2014 (UTC)
- I can't argue with that, I screwed up! I've striken my incorrect statements. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 01:34, 10 February 2014 (UTC)
