Runner-up finishes mention

[edit]

@JamesVilla44 I'm more in favour of the "previous finals" line. I feel like Smith's runner-up finishes are most notable in the context of his initial losing streak on the way to his first major, as seen in reports about his Grand Slam win by BBC Sport, Sky Sports and The Independent (which all note that it's his ninth final, excluding the 2020 World Cup, that's a whole other discussion about what constitutes a major but we could just say singles). That would render the mention of any post-2022 Grand Slam runner-up finish as less important, especially an unranked event like the 2024 World Series Finals which is his only final since. “He won his first PDC major title at the 2022 Grand Slam. He previously finished as the runner-up in eight premier event singles finals, including the World Championship in 2019 and 2022.”
I’ve put this for now. Would you reword it in any way? JamesVilla44 (talk) 12:53, 1 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
