There are some further details available via the Times digital archve, including coverage of the trial of the youths involved, haven't seen anything that adds hugely to the info presented here - though the Times implies he didn't actually die until Christmas Day. If the person is only notable for the one event (and the article only discusses it) then maybe this should be renamed to be about the event and not the one person.
