Notability
[edit]The sources do not show that the subject meets WP:NACADEMICS. I do not see the awards as meeting #2 and he does not meet #5. The sources present are not enough to support him meeting the other criteria or GNG I believe. Dom from Paris (talk) 22:06, 31 May 2018 (UTC)
- What about receiving an award for his book? ~EDDY (talk/contribs)~ 22:39, 31 May 2018 (UTC)
- The criteria #2 says "The person has received a highly prestigious academic award or honor at a national or international level." Is the award a highly prestigious one? Dom from Paris (talk) 22:47, 31 May 2018 (UTC)
- I would have thought that being a finalist for a Pulitzer sure gets pretty close to notability -- thinking of it as a significant honor, even though he didn't win the prize.–CaroleHenson (talk) 02:42, 1 June 2018 (UTC)
- Winning would most certainly count but being a finalist is debatable. I think we can say that in this case when we talk about honours it is not subjective but in the sense of an award or decoration. I think it would be better to search for sources to show he passes GNG as I am sure there must be. Dom from Paris (talk) 15:56, 1 June 2018 (UTC)
- Just to close this out for historical purposes, the tag has been removed by Editorofthewiki (EDDY), which I am fine with. I get that it's a borderline circumstance, but I think he nudges over the line with the award and Pulitzer nom.–CaroleHenson (talk) 16:30, 1 June 2018 (UTC)
