Fantastic new article, thanks – well done Grey Wanderer! One query – why do we have to say "authored" rather than simply "wrote"? To my ears it sounds a little bit weighty and potentially pretentious, similarly to "resided" vs. "lived". But, please note: (a) it might just be my BrE ears hearing an AmE usage and not getting/liking it, or something else along those lines, and (b) I am not willing to go to full-on bare-knuckle fighting over this, so please do feel free to tell me where to get off! :) DBaK (talk) 14:42, 21 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@DBak, totally understand where you’re coming from. It was an attempt to distinguish clearly between the works that were wholly his and the vast amount of written works that he advised or edited. I made the change you suggested as I think clarity and informal language are generally preferable. To think, a BrE telling an AmE he sounds too pretentious! Unthinkable! :) Grey Wanderer (talk) 15:30, 21 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
