Cleanup tag
[edit]I am proposing we eliminate the cleanup tag from this page as I have cleaned it up. Please let me know what else needs to be done or I will eliminate the tag. thanks, Sansbras 01:13, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
Endorsements relevant to his Ideology
[edit]Franti's endorsement of The World Can't Wait seems relevant to his political ideology.
Franti's courageous endorsement of the 9/11 Truth Statement seems relevant to his ideology.
Possible copyright violation
[edit]The political section is copied from the website it links to in the end. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.186.22.120 (talk • contribs) 12:14, 2 August 2006 (UTC)
- Yes, and I addressed this a while back on the talk page of the contributing editor. You can review the discussion, here. Apparently, the text is used with permission. —Viriditas | Talk 12:26, 2 August 2006 (UTC)
Iraq trip album
[edit]What about the other album that is meant to come out as a result of his iraq rip...59.167.200.193 06:17, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
There are parts here that are repeated, specifically the bit about the movie coming out of his Iraq trip under both "present" and "politics". This seems redundant. The 2nd mention includes a link.
Criticism from rappers?
[edit]Is there any source for the statement that rappers have criticized Franti for having white parents? That's a pretty heavy thing to lay out without having cited any sources. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.162.203.195 (talk) 20:34, August 30, 2007 (UTC) I have some white parent but I hope they still love me. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.226.163.190 (talk) 07:40, 21 December 2010 (UTC)
Band v Individual
[edit]Hey. So, one links to this page from the Spearhead disambiguation, but the article is on the personal life of Michael Franti. Also, it lists Carl, David, etc., as members of the band "Michael Franti," which they are not. The records are all from Michael Franti & Spearhead, and if you go to a concert, you go to a "Michael Franti & Spearhead" concert. Indeed, their first album listed only "Spearhead" as the artist.
I guess I'm advocating splitting this page, with one for the band "Michael Franti and Spearhead" and one for the man, Michael Franti. Thoughts?
Jordanp (talk) 22:12, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
Agreed. Michael has had a long and diverse career apart from Spearhead, and they deserve their due recognition. I think this would have naturally happened if it wasn't for Capitol's ownership of Spearhead, resulting in the band being called "Michael Franti and Spearhead". DFS (talk) 00:09, 8 October 2009 (UTC)
Franti Redirection
[edit]Please, turn off redirection from "Franti", or put a disambiguation. There is an old italian anarchist punk band called Franti. Take a look at italian Wikipedia under "Franti". It is better to have an empty page than to create confusion, right?

Vegan info should be under personal life
[edit]The last line about Franti being Vegan should be under personal life, not his politics. If he contribute to PETA and spoke out against the meat industry, it would be considered political. Simply choosing not to eat meat is personal. He doesn't wear shoes, but he's not anti-Reebok ;) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dude reino (talk • contribs) 20:58, 1 August 2010 (UTC)
