Predeceased by his wife.. - exact wording as here. Tricky as by far the easiest way to word it. I think it would be good to find out when she died and then it can be placed in, eliminating the problem.
I'd link "double-dissolution"
I guess one of my hopes is that we make wikipedia better than some biography databases. I don't get a clear picture from reading (maybe I'm missing something) about his political views within the conservative spectrum - was he a moderate or more hard-line conservative within the parties and governments he belonged to?
As an addendum to this, his views on public transport are interesting for one on the conservative side of politics. They'd be a good add. Casliber (talk · contribs) 21:01, 7 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, missed that. Casliber (talk · contribs) 20:31, 12 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Country Party gained 11 seats and held five seats on the cabinet. - either go with number/number or word/word here but 11/five looks funny here.
Insistent his party take a equal role in the coalition (I reworded this bit a little - should "coalition" be capitalised here or not? My NSW history of conservative politics is not crash hot)
but still managed to push through several initiatives, particularly those that benefited rural areas. -...like...?
reading the section with Spooner, it makes him sounds a bit like a scoundrel vs the good guys of Stevens and Bruxner et al. Is there an opposing point of view on this? Was Spooner alot more left wing than the others, or is there a pretty clear consensus on this understanding of events?
... his youngest son, James Caird Bruxner.. - confusing here as you start taling about Tim in the next few sentences. Maybe rewrite as " his youngest son, James Caird (Tim) Bruxner"?
But the public disunity which had been displayed in Stevens' departure, combined with a resurgent Labor Party following the deposition of Lang by the moderate William McKell, made it almost certain that the coalition would be defeated in the next elections (article) from " But the public disunity which had been displayed, coupled with the decline of factionalism within the Labor Party and the replacement of Lang by the moderate (Sir) W. J. McKell, made it certain that the coalition would be defeated in the next elections." (source) - this bit paraphrases this too closely. Need to rework it. Some offline references to embellish would be helpful I think. better.
this book is his biography and would be very good to get for this article.
However, Bruxner greatly respected Stevens's financial ability, and had no ambitions to be premier himself - paraphrasing too close

Otherwise looking pretty good. Casliber (talk · contribs) 23:05, 5 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I've been trying to get hold of a copy of the biography but it seems to be quite hard to get hold of...will keep trying! Hopefully my recents edits clear up some of your concerns, but its still a work in progress.Siegfried Nugent (talk) 15:50, 7 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

For the photo, as its copyright status is owned by the NSW state government, copyright has expired as it was "first published more than 50 years ago, or if made before 1 May 1969, first made more than 50 years ago".Siegfried Nugent (talk) 10:34, 8 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
