I have removed material from this article that does not comply with our policy on the biographies of living persons. Biographical material must always be referenced from reliable sources, especially negative material. Negative material that does not comply with that must be immediately removed. Note that the removal does not imply that the information is either true or false.

Please do not reinsert this material unless you can provide reliable citations, and can ensure it is written in a neutral tone. Please review the relevant policies before editing in this regard. Editors should note that failure to follow this policy may result in the removal of editing privileges.--Scott Mac (Doc) 17:38, 27 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Likewise, I have removed the "LGBT politicians" category for the same reason. There were stories while I was at York, but if it's not mentioned in the article, it shouldn't be a category either. Since it seems to be an issue, however, I will leave the article within the LGBT Project. Rodhullandemu 22:41, 28 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
These have been replaced, without sourcing, and I shall remove them again. I've just taken a look round Google, and can find no reliable sources. Anyone seeking their replacement should find some. WP:BLP isn't a negotiable policy. Rodhullandemu 21:34, 7 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have re-inserted the section on his outing, backed up by two references. One is a piece from The Independent that he himself authored; the other a book published by Cornell University Press, a respected academic publisher. Accordingly, I have added the LGBT categories that had been removed. --Lincolnite (talk) 03:27, 11 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
