Mascot name change

[edit]

This page contains an inaccuracy that I can't seem to edit. The mascot name change to RedHawks was effective June 30, 1997 according to this press release from Miami University:

http://www.miami.muohio.edu/news/article/view/2700.html

This article implies the change was earlier (though it is not technically an error, since it states "before 1994"). 70.88.170.178 (talk) 01:41, 1 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Current NFL players

[edit]

In the section listing Miami Alumni who currently play in the NFL, it correctly lists Chris Givens of the New Orleans Saints. However, if you click on his name, the link takes you to Chris Givens of the Rams, who played at Wake Forest. I don't know how to change that. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 172.10.38.67 (talk) 16:30, 20 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The section under Terry Hoeppner list information about Ben Roethlisberger that is incorrect and slanderous. It says he was regarded as too heavy to be even an average quarterback. That was not the case. It also says that no women wanted him, which is obviously false, as evidenced by the fact that he is now married with children. This sentence should be removed by Wikipedia or a contributor who knows how to manage this. 66.209.137.177 (talk) 18:42, 20 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion

[edit]

An editor deleted the fact that the team's kicker led the nation[1] - as trivia. I disagree. And find that assertion quite surprising. --2603:7000:2143:8500:E159:96EA:4544:1DB2 (talk) 04:34, 8 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Better fit for 2020 Miami RedHawks football team which is about that season or the Sam Sloman player article. UW Dawgs (talk) 06:18, 8 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Both are good suggestions - though help me here, is it the 19 season or the 20 season? I'm a bit confused. Thanks. At the same time, I do think it belongs in that section of the main team article. Everything in that section could of course also be in a specific year article as well. He led the entire nation - its not just a minor local conference accomplishment. That section has nothing past 2016, btw, so it is not so full of late 2010s information that this should pose a problem. --2603:7000:2143:8500:E159:96EA:4544:1DB2 (talk) 06:35, 8 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
