[edit]

I changed this page from a redirect straight to OPERA NEEWS to something with basic information on the actual work done by the Guild and their relationship to the Met Opera. They do much more than fundraise to offset budget gaps of the Met. They are the arms of the opera company reaching out to opera lovers of today and tomorrow. They handle the Arts in Education initiatives as well as ON Awards. They are much more than the publishers of a magazine. Perhaps other WP editors should minimally look at MOG's website. I might not have known any of this was I not bored one evening when I wandered into a room where I did not belong and asked how I might be of service to THE MET OPERA... at which point I was introduced formally to the bees at work on the soon to be released webpages being constructed to accompany the Saturday broadcasts along with the materials being sent to schools with ideas teacher could use to further enrich the lives of their charges. I'M NOT AN EXPERT. THIS ARTICLE NEEDS MORE WORK. PLEASE STEP UP AND DO WHAT YOU CAN SIMPLY BECAUSE I'VE ASKED YOU TO DO SO HERE ON THIS PAGE THAT YOU SOMEHOW FOUND. Note that I have merged this article with The Metropolitan Opera Guild. I am not sure why we had two articles on exactly the same subject, but all the details in this article are also in the Metropolitan Opera Guild page. Epicgenius (talk) 17:04, 19 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
