How can I test for MA Concentration in blood or in urin? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.180.174.77 (talk) 20:52, 15 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Found something but can someone explain this issue more precisely so that non-experts understand it?--Goiken (talk) 05:23, 16 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Confusing

[edit]

I just now edited the first paragraph to change "disease" to "deficiency", because I had to read it several times to determine what the "disease" was: MMA above normal levels, or Vit B below normal levels? I'm pretty sure it meant the latter, hence my edit; but if someone more knowledgeable in this field and me thinks I made a mistake, I'll understand.

This is also confusing: "For this reason, MMA test is not routinely recommended in the elderly." In the context, I couldn't figure out why this recommendation. Is it because testing for MMA level, while to some extent a proxy for testing for Vit B level, is much easier than directly testing Vit B?

BTW, I came here because of this: https://www.nature.com/articles/s41586-020-2630-0.epdf . Might be helpful to add a summary of this. Mcswell (talk) 22:38, 22 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
