35.139.154.158, I think a discussion should happen on the talk page instead of in the edit summaries. You linked to WP:IPC, which doesn't back up your point. It only says that one should avoid "brief mentions" or "mentions of insignificance" (my words). In this specific case, methylamine is a core plot device in the TV show Breaking Bad. It plays a key role in several parts of the plot not just in the beginning but throughout the series. This is not "a chemical was mentioned in a TV show" as you want to characterize it. Per WP:BRD, I'm going to restore the content and it should remain as it is (was) while discussion is happening, and until consensus is reached. Kimen8 (talk) 21:30, 25 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

So what if it even is a core plot point (not device)? The sentence doesn't add anything other than, yes, this is a precursor chemical, which was stated in the very previous section. No understanding about the chemical is imparted to the reader. Nothing of significance about the chemical is noted. We also don't have a section in the article on Soap mentioning its use as a plot point in Fight Club, either, for very good reason. Wikipedia is not a dumping ground of mentions of things in pop media. On top of that, the sources are of pretty low quality as well. Even if you could find some better sources (maybe they're out there), it really belongs on the Breaking Bad article instead of here. 35.139.154.158 (talk) 22:07, 25 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
