Metatheory = Methodology

[edit]

In most cases i see such an word used, it´s as a synonym for methodology(closer to the epistemological sense of the term). Does it proceed? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.33.203.27 (talk) 02:08, 4 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oh no. Metatheory is very different from methodology. The page, as is, seems fairly accurate, so let it stand for the momnet. I'm in the process of developing a foundation for the advancement of social theory (a very metatheoretical endeavor). As we get underway, I plan to become engaged with this page. Until then, check out:

Why I have deleted the TOGA metatheory

[edit]

The TOGA metatheory is completely unknown on four best universities:
http://search.cam.ac.uk/web?query=TOGA+metatheory => no results
http://www.harvard.edu/searches/?searchtext=TOGA+metatheory => no results
http://web.mit.edu/search.html TOGA+metatheory => no results
http://www.yale.edu/ TOGA+metatheory => no results

Why I have added the TOGA metatheory

[edit]

- Above mentioned data-basies are rather specific. We may see: Google search https://www.google.pl/#q=%22toga+meta-theory%22 - "TOGA meta-theory" -- 6.420 results " meta-teoria TOGA" -- 336 results.

We should notice that it is a theory rather for high-level specialists ... 151.24.128.4 (talk) 09:18, 30 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Vikom noted above that it's not found in the usual scholarly references, and the anon notes it is found on Google (or, at least, the Polish localization). This leans against linkage here, although it provides mild support for a TOGA article. — Arthur Rubin (talk) 12:33, 31 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
