Is it a language?

[edit]

Is language the correct category for this? I cannot find any metaphorical language which is not religious except for the fictional example in ST:TNG. Since that exists, and is at least a conceptually possible language, Religion is not an accurate Cat... Other than that example, also, I can find no metaphorical language which is actually a language instead of a type of religious language subset. KillerChihuahua 16:10, 12 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

In other words, I find no reference of a fully formed metaphorical language outside Science Fiction.
What about Category:Linguistics and Category:Cognitive science|Linguistics?

OR claim

[edit]

Someone removed the OR note, and I am replacing it. The examples given show that complex systems of metaphors exist in real and fictional cultures. But nothing on this page or its references say that there is any such thing as a "metaphorical language" in the complete sense that the article is describing. See the failed AFD discussion for consensus that the article should be kept, but needs to be seriously reworked. Staecker 23:55, 9 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
