Hit and run case

[edit]

Below is the removed content regarding the article subject's hit and run charge. No public information has been found on the status of this charge. She also has an upcoming civil case regarding the same incident, scheduled for 5/26/2014 [1]. BarkeepChat/$ 17:50, 19 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

"In March 2013, Kessler was driving her automobile and hit a pedestrian. In August 2013, she was charged with felony hit-and-run.[1]"

I came to MK's page to learn the latest on the hit and run incident. It is sad and disappointing that any reference to this has been white washed. According to this page: http://trstriathlon.com/final-court-decisions-reached-in-kessler-hit-run-case/, MK settled for $300,000 on the civil case and took a 'no plea' deal on the criminal case, admitting to a misdemeanor charge which sentence included 90 days of jail, three years of court probation and $100,000 restitution. It seems odd that this event isn't considered significant to MK's bio... 87.115.71.223 (talk) 12:03, 4 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

An editor has repeatedly reverted edits that mention this incident.[2][3][4][5][6] The information has a citation to a reliable source; and there are other sources that could be cited, and were cited in earlier versions of the article describing this incident. Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons#Public figures says:

"In the case of public figures, there will be a multitude of reliable published sources, and BLPs should simply document what these sources say. If an allegation or incident is noteworthy, relevant, and well documented, it belongs in the article—even if it is negative and the subject dislikes all mention of it. If you cannot find multiple reliable third-party sources documenting the allegation or incident, leave it out."

I think we should put back the citations that were used in older versions in addition to the citation used in the current version.-- Toddy1 (talk) 17:51, 18 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hit and run - Part 2

[edit]

Since the above conversation took place the article subject has since been convicted of a misdemeanor charge. At present a single editor has removed the content four time without citing specific Wikipedia policy. The editor, Mojo3232, has been asked to engage in a conversation to address their concerns. The reason given for inclusion of this content is that Wikipedia is not censored and the information maintains a neutral point of view with no undue weight is given to this particular area. I would also welcome any other parties opinions for exclusion or inclusion of this particular content. BarkeepChat 19:12, 18 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I have added two more citations from WP:RS for this incident, and also added mention of the settling of the civil suit and the compensation.-- Toddy1 (talk) 13:00, 25 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
